CONFIGURACIÓN DE LA SEGURIDAD ALIMENTARIA FAMILIAR EN COMUNIDADES DEL MUNICIPIO SANTIAGO DE CUBA, CUBA

Resumen

La seguridad alimentaria del familiar, depende del desarrollo que experimenta cada país con base a elementos como la equidad en los ingresos, acceso a los servicios, la infraestructura, entre otros. Como sistema complejo, dicha seguridad es resultado también de la interrelación de determinantes sociales (actores locales -instituciones sociales y culturales, organizaciones comunitarias, etc.- y factores –sociales, culturales, económicos-), que contribuyen al desarrollo social no solo del ámbito comunitario, sino también de la familia.

El artículo que se presenta tiene el objetivo de analizar la configuración de la Seguridad Alimentaria Familiar (SAF) en las comunidades Chicharrones y Los Maceos del municipio Santiago de Cuba. En el estudio se emplearon la metodología cualitativa y cuantitativa, así como las técnicas de las entrevistas, observación científica y el cuestionario.

El empleo de la triangulación de datos posibilitó evidenciar las problemáticas existentes en torno a la SAF; por ejemplo, la vulnerabilidad social de la comunidad, infraestructura deficiente, las prácticas alimentarias de los actores sociales, insuficiente acceso a los alimentos, entre otros. Las causas que dificultan la SAF conllevan al análisis de los diferentes factores y actores sociales que al interconectarse configuran el acceso a los alimentos en diferentes contextos sociales.

Abstract

The family's food security depends on the development that each country experiences based on elements such as income equity, access to services, infrastructure, among others. As a complex system, this security is also the result of the interrelation of social determinants (local actors -social and cultural institutions, community organizations, etc. - and factors -social, cultural, economic-), which contribute to social development not only in the social sphere community, but also the family.

The article presented aims to analyze the configuration of Family Food Security (SAF) in the Chicharrones and Los Maceos communities of the Santiago de Cuba municipality. In the study, the qualitative and quantitative methodology was used, as well as the techniques of the interviews, scientific observation and the questionnaire.

The use of data triangulation made it possible to highlight the problems that exist around the SAF; for example, the social vulnerability of the community, poor infrastructure, food practices of social actors, insufficient access to food, among others. The causes that make the SAF difficult lead to the analysis of the different factors and social actors that, when interconnected, shape access to food in different social contexts.
